The Gift of Life and Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas established the Pink Power Network in 2009 to enhance the continuum of care for breast cancer patients and their families.
Survivors, caregivers, family members and friends attend monthly meetings where speakers offer relevant healthcare topics that enhance treatment and recovery. The meetings further strengthen vital support systems during treatment and recovery by creating an opportunity for survivors and newly-diagnosed patients to share experiences and draw strength from mentors.
The Pink Power Network (PPN) meetings are orchestrated by survivors and create a platform for shared experiences, mentoring, assistance and educational opportunities.
Guest speakers include medical professionals who present relevant healthcare information.
Breast cancer survivors and those who are newly diagnosed, caregivers, families and friends are encouraged to attend.
” One of the most important things to do when you have a chronic illness, like breast cancer, is to focus on someone or something that you love, and the Pink Power Network will ensure no one faces this journey alone”
Ann Winslow (Breast Cancer Survivor)
Pink Power Network Chair
