Under the leadership of David Callender, MD, UTMB-Galveston physicians and personnel
have stepped forward to help the "Gift of Life" prostate cancer program, performing diagnostic

Spanning a professional career of more than 41 years this extraordinary physician,
Bernard Levin, MD, has spent his life devoted to "curing and caring" in the fields of
gastroenterology and cancer research and prevention. |

The YMBL has helped the Beaumont community since it's inception in 1971.
With over 1,000 current members, the organization raises money each year through
the South Texas State Fair and the YMBL World Championship Rodeo. |

The Hospitals are a founding partner in the “Gift of Life,” a
major supporter of the program’s services, and a community
leader in quality cancer care through the Julie & Ben Rogers Cancer Institute. |

The Penlands have established the Linda and Joe Penland Free
Mammogram Fund through the “Gift of Life” to serve medically
underserved Southeast Texas women, in addition to making funds
available to provide free prostate cancer screenings to uninsured
and underinsured men. |

A significant presence in the community, the Foundation provides
generous support to local health care agencies each year,
including the “Gift of Life,” for which it annually sponsors
four mobile mammography van sites, a prostate cancer screening
event, and numerous educational and cancer awareness activities. |

August 9, 2006, at the age of 97.)
A prostate cancer survivor and loyal “Gift of Life” volunteer
and supporter, Mr. Long dedicated his life to public service. |

BASF has contributed over $60,000 since 2000, sponsoring ten mobile
mammography van sites and subsidizing more than 500 free mammograms and
clinical breast exams for uninsured and underinsured women since 2002. |

Breast cancer survivor and sponsor of “Gift of Life” free
mammography services since 1996, Mrs. Keith has personally
provided funding for almost 400 mammograms and clinical breast
exams for medically underserved women in Southeast Texas. |

A steadfast supporter since 2000, H-E-B is a strong advocate for
cancer awareness and the importance of early detection, participating
in “Gift of Life” mobile mammography van events, sponsoring free prostate
cancer screenings, and helping with the creation of a permanent cancer
educational display at the Family Resource Center in Beaumont. |

Mrs. Dauphin was honored for her generous support of the “Gift of
Life,” as well as her demonstrated commitment in the fight against
cancer, including the establishment of the Sidney “Chief” Dauphin
Educational Outreach initiative, funding of research at M. D. Anderson
Cancer Center, and contribution to the development of ASPIRE, a smoking
prevention and cessation curriculum for high school students. Most
recently, she played an important role in the creation of the Dauphin
Cancer Screening & Prevention Center at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital
in Beaumont. |

Entergy was the first recipient of the corporate “Spirit of Love” Award
for its outstanding contributions to our community, as well as its support
of the “Gift of Life” Program’s mission, including annual sponsorship of
the mobile mammography van which serves uninsured and underinsured women
in Southeast Texas. A program supporter since 1996, Entergy has contributed
to general program operations and has helped provide more than 400 free mammograms. |

Beal & Fischel are former South Pole crewmembers who played key
roles in Dr. Jerri Nielsen’s battle against breast cancer while at
the South Pole. |

A prostate cancer survivor, former Director of the Prostate Cancer
Research Program at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer
Center, and former Director of the National Cancer Institute, Dr. von
Eschenbach currently serves as the Acting Commissioner of the Food and
Drug Administration. |

Ms. Bear was recognized for her amazing efforts to raise funds for
her teacher’s (Regina Cowles) cancer treatment. |

A prostate cancer survivor and Chair of the global Huntsman
Corporation, Mr. Huntsman has been a benevolent sponsor of prostate
cancer education and screenings in Southeast Texas. In 1999, the Huntsman
Cancer Institute and Hospital was dedicated at the University of Utah. |
