Heightened Awareness Campaigns

It is hard to miss the “Gift of Life” Program’s consciousness-raising campaigns throughout Southeast Texas during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in September and Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Our regular schedule of community presentations, health fairs, radio public service announcements, and literature distribution expands to include tools such as billboards, bench bulletins at bus stops, yard signs, flyers, postcards, television spots, banners, city bus placards, and library displays. By enhancing and multiplying our usual awareness activities during these two months when the national spotlight is on these diseases, we not only strengthen our existing efforts, but we also capture the attention of people who otherwise might not be aware of the need for annual cancer screening and the availability of free healthcare services through the “Gift of Life.”
