The "Gift of Life" and area beauty salons are prepared to "Curl up for the Cause" in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and National Mammography Day. This fall, local salons will assist the "Gift of Life" in promoting the key to surviving breast cancer - early detection through annual mammograms.

During September and October, salon owners and stylists will raise their clientele's cancer awareness level by wearing "Curl up for the Cause" t-shirts and encouraging donations that will provide free mammograms for women who are medically underserved. On Friday, October 20, National Mammography Day, all participating salons will distribute lifesaving educational literature and pampering treats courtesy of the "Gift of Life."
