In 2005, the "Gift of Life" and area beauty salons "Curled up for the Cause" in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and National Mammography Day. This fall, local salons assisted the "Gift of Life" in promoting the key to surviving breast cancer - early detection through annual mammograms.

During September and October, salon owners and stylists raised their clientele's cancer awareness level by wearing "Curl up for the Cause" t-shirts and encouraging donations that provided free mammograms for women who are medically underserved.
